The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to leave Washington with few new injury concerns Monday night. The most significant health issue surrounded Ryan Shazier after he left midway through the second half failing to return.
Mike Tomlin addressed the team’s injury status on Tuesday but had no news of the young linebacker’s status at that time. Whatever his condition, it seems Shazier was held out of practice on Wednesday but was allowed back this Thursday afternoon in a limited capacity, according to Missi Mathews of Steelers.com.
The continued absence of cornerback Senquez Golson is expected, but it is reassuring to see wide receiver Markus Wheaton able to practice and hopefully able to play this Sunday. Utility offensive lineman Cody Wallace practiced on Wednesday, listed as a full participant, but was held out again Thursday.
Roosevelt Nix remains out with a back injury, although there seems to be little information as to his long-term prognosis outside of day-to-day for now. It would appear DeAngelo Williams was given a well-deserved rest day after a spectacular performance by the veteran running back in Washington, although he was back to work on Thursday too.
Here is the full practice report from Wednesday as per the Steelers own website in regards to those that had been carrying injuries:
Full Participation: WR Markus Wheaton (Shoulder), C/G Cody Wallace (Knee)
Limited Participation: None
No Participation: LB Ryan Shazier (Knee), FB Roosevelt Nix (Back), CB Senquez Golson (Foot), WR DeAngelo Williams (Not injury related)
