It appears there will be some changes at the quarterback position for the Pittsburgh Steelers. No, nothing is wrong with Ben Roethlisberger, and yes Landry Jones woke up on Saturday morning and found himself still employed. But it looks like Pittsburgh added a quarterback, perhaps in anticipation of the loss of another one.
It is unfortunate that Vaughan has a broken thumb. When I first heard he was hurt, I assumed after this hit it might be a concussion or perhaps a broken jaw.

The addition of Renner doesn’t solve the Steelers problems at backup quarterback. We also don’t know if the addition of Renner was in response to Vaughan’s injury or the hamstring injury to Bruce Gradkowski from the first preseason game.
Renner came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent and has bounced between four other NFL teams and even the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League before joining the Steelers on Saturday.
